Memories
"Memories"
Our wishes for the future always contain traces of our past. I named this series of paintings "memories" because they were painted on top of my grandfather's paintings. In addition, I combined images from old family photographs with contemporary images that caught my interest.
In these paintings, the rainbow as a symbol of peace is eaten by pigs or toyed with by children, because peace manufactured by humans and peace attained by a return to nature are qualitatively different.
"Memories" series is not about mankind versus nature, but depicts people inhabiting nature.
